Our Kindergarten program includes:

  • 5 days of class from 8:15 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

  • Adherence to Florida’s Sunshine State Standards for Education (see below for more info)

  • Beyond Centers & Circle Time Curriculum incorporated into Standards

  • Spanish, Art, & Music classes

  • Team sports

  • Weekly Stretch & Grow Exercise class

Religion:

  • Demonstrates an understanding of Christian Curriculum

Math:

  • Understands and applies math language, symbols, and reasoning to solve problems

  • Count to 100 by ones

  • Reads and writes numerals from 0-20

  • Compares numbers by greater than, less than, equal to

  • Solves addition and subtraction problems by using objects or drawings

  • Works with numbers 11-19 to gain foundation for place value

  • Describes measurable attributes of objects such as length or weight

  • Identifies, describes, compares, and creates shapes

English/Language Arts/Reading & Writing:

  • Demonstrates an understanding of spoken’words, syllables, and sounds

  • Recognizes and produces rhyming words

  • Can isolate and pronounce initial, medial, and final sounds in words

  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of one-to-one letter sound correspondence

  • Reads grade level appropriate sight words

  • Retells stories and recalls key details such as main idea, characters, and setting

  • Recognizes and prints upper and lowercase letters

  • Uses correct capitalization and punctuation

  • Uses a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose texts or narrate events
