Wow!

What a great day today with SPCS families & staff, St. Paul's Church families and even the local scout troop finishing up our quick three day drive collecting items for SW Florida families impacted by Hurricane Ian

What really impacted me was how eager people were to help out. So many of you expressed appreciation at the opportunity to contribute and others were just happy that this was taking place. It was another morning of joy to greet you all, whether you could make a contribution or not.

Our former SPYouth (now adults) Jordan Steffey and Carson York came from Gainesville to gather the items and we filled most of the pickup truck and the entire back seat in the cab with contributions which will be added to others, sorted and packed this evening in preparation for the trip south. Jordan will be part of the team going to Ft. Myers tomorrow (Thursday) and deliver to distribution points in that area.

We had grandparents, parents and even children that wanted to help load the truck. This was truly an amazing, and a bit emotional, experience and I could not wait to share this with you all.

The photos attached show some items at various collection points throughout the campus, two classrooms being part of the celebration and also photos of Jordan, Carson, Kelly, Keri and Jeremy, the pastor at St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

An amazing act of service from an amazing team of people that made this idea into a reality in a short time frame. I am blessed to be a part of this family.
