Curriculum Areas:

Religion:

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the Christian Curriculum

  • Demonstrates an understanding of Christian social teachings

  • Demonstrates reverence during prayer

Math:

  • Understands and applies math language, symbols, and reasoning to solve problems

  • Count to 100 by ones, fives and tens

  • Reads and writes numerals from 0-20

  • Compares numbers by greater than, less than, equal to

  • Solves addition and subtraction problems by using objects or drawings

  • Works with numbers 11-19 to gain a foundation for place value

  • Describes measurable attributes of objects such as length or weight

  • Identifies, describes, compares, and creates shapes

English/Language Arts/Reading & Writing:

  • Demonstrates an understanding of spoken’words, syllables, and sounds

  • Recognizes and produces rhyming words

  • Can isolate and pronounce initial, medial, and final sounds in words

  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of one-to-one letter sound correspondence

  • Reads grade level appropriate sight words

  • Retells stories and recalls key details such as main idea, characters, and setting

  • Recognizes and prints upper and lowercase letters

  • Uses correct capitalization and punctuation

  • Uses a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose texts or narrate events

  • Participates in shared research and writing activities

  • Independently read and recognize first100 sight words

Science/Social Studies:

  • Explores, investigates, and collaborates on age-appropriate scientific concepts

  • Demonstrates an awareness of American history, people, events, and timeline

  • Develops an awareness of good citizenship and fair ways to make decisions

  • Uses age appropriate science and social studies vocabulary terms

Citizenship/Learner Behaviors – Students are expected to:

  • Follow class and school rules
