Teachers/Staff

All of our teachers are certified with a Child Development Associate certificate (C.D.A.), Child Development Associate degree or higher. All of our staff members have received 45 required state training hours and are certified in First Aid and C.P.R. and participate in 4 Professional Development days each year.

  • Kay Crary teaches our 2-year olds.  She has her C.D.A and has been at St. Paul's since 2000.

  • Kara Kelly teaches our young 3-year olds.  She has her C.D.A. and loves working with children!  She has been here since 2006.
  • Keri Pitman teaches 3-year olds.  She has her C.D.A. and has been here at St. Paul's since 2004.
  • Sharon Roos teaches 3-year olds.  She has been here at St. Paul's since 1999.
  • Elaine Rushworth teaches 4-year olds.  She has her C.D.A. and has been working with young children for the last 11 years.
  • Amanda Bleau teaches 4-year olds.  She is currently working on her BA in early childhood and joined our staff in 2004.
  • Alli Philips is an assistant in the VPK classroom and has a B.A. in Elementary Education.
  • MaryJane Simpson teaches 4-year olds.  She has been working with children for more than 10 years.
  • Jessica Turley is an assistant in the 3-year old classroom and has a Master's degree in Early Childhoo Education.
  • Sharon Klinkroth is an assistant in our 2-year old class.  She has been here since 2006.
  • Kathy Estrada is an assistant in the 3-year old classroom and has an A.A. degree in Elementary Education.
  • Barbara O'Brien is an assistant in our 2-year old class.  She has worked with the children's ministry at St. Paul's for many years.  She joined our staff in 2010. 
  • Annette Brogdon is an assistant in our Advanced K-4 class.  She has been here at St. Paul's since 1998.
  • Sandy Sailor is our Music Director.  She has been teaching our children at St. Paul's since 1998.
  • Melanie Green is our Administrative Assistant and has been at St. Paul's since 1999.  She has a degree from FSU.
  • Kim O'Connor is a teacher in the VPK classroom and has over 5 years of teaching experience.
  • Trisha Curtis is a new assistant in the 4-year old.  She is a graduate of the University of Florida and loves children.
  • Dawn-Marie Jackson teaches our the 4-year old class.  She holds a BS in Early Childhood Education.
  • Mary Moody is an assistant in our young 3-year old class.  She is currently working on her Education degree at St. Leo.
  • Kelly Hall is the Director of the school.  She has a B.A. degree in Elementary Ed. and has 7 years teaching experience.  Kelly has been at St. Paul's since 2007.

Facilities

  • St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and Preschool are located at the corner of SE 8th St. and SE 41st Avene.  We are tucked in a quiet residential neighborhood and set on a large open campus.

  • All of our classes are self-contained in large, open classrooms that allow for a multitude of exploratory activities and social interaction.

  • Small class sizes and teacher/student ratios:

    • 2-year-olds - 2:8
    • Young 3-year-olds - 2:10
    • 3 and 4-year-olds - 2:12
    • Advanced K-4 - 2:10
